在此前就有传闻称苹果的新版iPad研发已经接近尾声，很快将会正式公布，但是此前苹果公司一直没有正面回应这一传闻，而在近日有媒体爆料苹果开始给媒体发送邀请函，参加苹果与北京时间5月7日晚10点的在线活动。
本次在线活动的主题为“Let Loose”，而根据爆料出来的海报猜测，本次活动将会公布期待已久的新版iPad和Apple Pencil，这对于目前的苹果公司无疑是一记强心剂。
此前有分析师称苹果的新版iPad将会是iPad的升级版，以及更大的iPad Air，此前就已经有猜测称将会推出升级版iPad，而公布时间会是3月底或者四月初，这也是苹果传统的活动时间，但是今年这一事件被推迟到了5月初。
而关于新版iPad的细节爆料此前有很多版本，包括配备LED显示屏、搭载更先进的M3芯片等等，但是目前苹果方面并未透露相关参数。
iPad是苹果公司在2010年推出的平板电脑产品，介于手机和笔记本电脑之间，满足了很多用户想要极致轻便的笔记本电脑的需求，因此上市之后一直很火爆，但是近年来更新放缓也没有新版本推出，导致呼声一直很高。
