根据21位经济学家的中位预测，出口主导的经济在第二季度的季度环比增速预计为经季节调整后的0.1%，相比一至三月的1.3%的季度增长显著放缓。
其中七位经济学家预测经济将出现收缩，两位预计经济将停滞。如果中位预测实现，这将是自2022年底以来最慢的增长。
在年度基准上，国内生产总值（GDP）预计增长2.5%，这是根据7月15日至22日对25位经济学家的中位预测得出的，而第一季度的增长为3.3%。

ANZ经济学家Krystal Tan指出，“我们预计GDP数据将显示在2024年第一季度强劲扩张后，增长停滞。尽管高频数据显示出口和制造业继续强劲，但这些可能被国内需求的疲软所抵消。”
