上周，Farrell在接受路透社采访时表示，希望下次与Dombrovskis会谈时能获得更为有利的欧盟提议，并已邀请他访问澳大利亚。
Farrell还强调，自由贸易协定将有助于简化欧洲在澳大利亚关键矿产部门的投资流程，最关键的一项措施是简化外国投资审查委员会（FIRB）的审查。
澳大利亚提供了约全球一半的锂矿供应，以及用于电动汽车和国防的稀土等矿物。在全球推动供应链多样化的背景下，澳大利亚与欧盟恢复自由贸易谈判，有助于减少该国矿产部门对中国生产商的依赖。
