On April 8th, Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted an update on the X (Twitter) platform revealing some recent developments at Tesla, mainly regarding autonomous driving.
In this tweet, Musk disclosed that Tesla will continue to focus on and invest in autonomous driving technologies. Despite the immense challenges and unimaginable difficulties in achieving fully autonomous driving, Tesla is committed to significantly increasing its investment to realize complete autonomous driving capabilities. To date, more than 10 billion USD has been spent on training their autonomous driving systems.
Despite the hefty expenditure, Tesla has not wavered but has decided to persist, as compared to the astronomical costs of investing in new energy vehicles, the expense of developing full autonomous driving is considered "insignificant".
Recently, Tesla has begun to promote autonomous driving on a large scale, even mandating that each store's service personnel must let the car owners experience the autonomous driving feature before delivery. This mandatory requirement, rather than a recommendation, demonstrates Musk's confidence in Tesla's FSD (Full Self-Driving) technology.
