1. Eurex's August 2023 total trading volume increased by 12.5% month-over-month
Eurex, a European derivatives exchange, released its trading data for August 2023, showing a total trading volume of 134 million contracts. This represents a 7.9% increase from August 2022's 123.6 million contracts and a 12.5% increase from July 2023's 118.6 million contracts.
Eurex Repo, the European collateral financing and financing electronic market, saw its GC Pooling average daily trading volume significantly increase by 243% in August, reaching 201.3 billion euros, while the overall average daily repo transaction volume increased by 49% in August, reaching 358.1 billion euros.
2. PayPal hires Rachel Kobetz as Chief Design Officer
PayPal Holdings, Inc. (PayPal), a provider of digital payment solutions, announced that Rachel Kobetz has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Design Officer (CDO).
Prior to joining PayPal, Rachel held senior leadership positions at some of the world's largest companies, where she was responsible for establishing design organizations. She served as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Design at Expedia Group, leading the company's experience design organization. Prior to that, Rachel was Senior Vice President and Head of Experience Design at Bank of America, and also led the new product UX team for Amazon Design, in addition to serving as a Senior Director of UX at Samsung Innovation Labs.
3. BTIG appoints Anton LeRoy as new CEO
BTIG, a global financial services company, announced the appointment of Anton LeRoy as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding co-founder Scott Kovalik. LeRoy joined BTIG in 2008, bringing over 25 years of experience in the finance sector. Since 2018, he has served as BTIG's President, responsible for the company's global expansion and strategy, with a focus on growth in the fixed income, structured products, and investment banking areas. LeRoy also previously served as BTIG's Chief Operating Officer and head of FICC.
