On September 6, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) announced that morning trading would be suspended due to the issuance of Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, Black Rainstorm Warning, or Extreme Conditions Warning at 9:00 AM.
Due to the continued effect of the Black Rainstorm Warning and the Hong Kong government's announcement of the extreme condition status, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange has canceled the morning trading sessions for securities (including Stock Connect) and derivative markets.
The Hong Kong Stock Exchange stated that if the Black Rainstorm Warning or extreme condition status is not lifted by 12 noon, the securities (including Stock Connect) and derivative markets will remain suspended for the entire day.
